Filming at the Junction.

Louis, Charna and I decided to film a lot of our footage at the junction. This meant taking the dancers with us there ( Emma Yasmin Tilly). When we got to the junction we were shown the places where we could film, which was the dressings rooms which were the typical old fashioned dressing rooms, this was great as it was exactly what we wanted for our video. We also go to use a room which had all the lighting we needed and was also quite small and dark which match our own criteria.

The first we filmed was the girls doing the dance, we felt this was the best thing to do as Tilly and Emma had to leave early, the dance went really well and we have got lots of footage of it. We then went on to filming me lip singing to the song, we took lots of footage of this from all different angels so it looks interesting. We then moved on to filming in the dressing room, where Louis filmed me in the mirror putting on make up and singing etc.

The day went really well, and thanks to everyone who helped out!! :)

Test Footage.

This is some test footage , of how the dance will be like in our music video. There are some bits where neither Em or Yaz or moving, this is because Tilly will be filling the blanks with her dance move in the routine.

Getting In contact with Esthero.

I messaged Esthero through myspace, to ask for her permission to use her song to create my music video.

Digi Pack :)

Over the past week, i have been creating a test Digi pack, i decided to create it through drawing and magazine images as i did not have the right photos to use for my Digi Pack. I decided to keep it plain but bold, as i thought it would fit in well with our chosen song as it is a bold song but simple. I also decided to use a lot of red on my digi pack to add an element of boldness, and when i think of the song it reminds me of the color red.

Dance Routine.

Here are some photos of the girls practicing the dance routine we have created, we have some footage of the dance however i will upload this after half term as it is currently on Louis' laptop at Long Road. I think our dance routine we have created is effective and fits in well with our song.

In today's lesson, Louis and I filmed some test footage while Charna was starting to create a digi pack, i believe our test footage went well, however some of the shots are a bit shaky. We all worked on editing the test footage, and i believe we worked well as a group as we considered everyone's views of how they wanted the footage to look.

Costume Ideas.

We have decided to change our costume idea, this is because not everyone had sequin dresses, in which we came up with the idea of the girls just wearing simple black boob tube dresses with flowers in their hair and pearl jeweler. We also have decided that the boys will be wearing suits with a smart shirt, but they don't necessarily have to wear the suit jacket.

Location and prop shots.

These are a collection of shots Louis and I took around college, we have decided to use the hall for one of our sets, we were not able to take photos of instruments as the music block said we will have to make an appointment to take some!

Inspiration.

This video of Candy Man gave me inspiration, this is because its the same style of song as its got the brass instruments in it, i also got inspiration from the dance moves as they are simple and would not be hard to learn.

Dance Routine.

This video has some dance steps in it, which i felt would be easy to follow and would also fit well with the song wicked little girls, however some of it is a bit advanced and so i thought it would not be a great idea to use some of it as it would look unprofessional as we do not have professional dancers to do our dance.  

In today's lesson, I emailed the junction to ask if it was possible to use there dressing room for one of our locations in our music video, i also emailed Charna to see where she was as the deadlines getting close and we need our whole group in most of the time. I also looked up simple dance routine that could be easy to incorporate in to our video, however i have not found one that would be simple enough to use, this is as we don't want to use a dance which is to difficult as we don't want our dancers to look amateur. Louis finished the animatic as we had to create a new one as Charna had the work and was not able to come in today.

Here is mine and Louis' animatic, which we re drew as Charna was not in but she had our work, so we had to re do it. Louis took the pictures of our storyboard and put the pictures in to final cut to create a sequence.

Deadlines.

Starting from next week we will be creating test footage for our video, this is to see what works and what doesn't. Our test footage has to be completed by the 12Th of February.

In the half term week using our test footage and other images we should start to get ideas for our digi pack and poster, and start work on it.

The week after half term ( 22Nd-26Th Feb) we start to get all our actual video footage in our chosen locations.

During the 1st of march to the 5Th we will be editing all our footage at Coleridge, and creating our digi packs at Long road.

The 8Th to the 12Th of march we will get our rough cut feedback and will continuing editing our work. Our music video must be finished by the 12Th of march!

The 15Th to the 19Th of march we will be working on our evaluation which must be finished by the 19Th.

Cutaways.

Today we were put in our groups to think about some of the cut-aways we might want to use for our video. We were given a sheet to note our ideas on, we also created a story board which i will put a photo of it on here soon.

The Cutaways we want:

The girls will be getting ready to perform,this will be them putting their makeup on ,for an example they could be putting lipstick on. The lead performer will have some sort of long coat on, and will take it off to reveal her costume.T here will be a series of close ups of the girls for an example there will be a close up of one of their eyes.


The Boys will enter the scene by walking on to set, this will be a series of shots, there will be a close up of the boys feet while walking in. When they have entered the scene they will take a seat on set and start to play cards, order drinks etc.

In the jazz bar we would like to have lots of drinks glasses, empty bottles of drinks,chairs, a deck of cards, maybe some form of fairy lights if needed, red and white spot lights.

For our cast we will need dancers/backing singers which we will use Tilly,Em and I. For the casting of the boys in the video Louis said he and his friends will be able to play that part, also we will need some extras so we are planning to use class mates .
